Saturday we took the kidlets to the aquarium. Good stuff ... even if they demanded to be carried (and not sit nicely in their stroller) and Bruce got really, really tired (and more than a wee bit cranky) ... I have a bit more of an idea of what the chicken I'm doing, as far as my calling in Scouting is going. It really helped that I finally got manuals to read through (which I did). The backyard is looking better, since I was able to fill up (AGAIN) the yard waste receptacle. The little garden-plot still isn't all cleaned out, but it's looking WAY better. And I was able to get a lot of branches (from when I was pruning the trees and bushes in our yard ... and, subsequently, BROKE the hedge clippers. Good thing we get to borrow my in-laws' yard tools while they're out of the state ... and until they get a new place after they're back in the state.) (Still, I'd rather buy a new set of clippers and have them local again.) Bruce's bump has diminished TONS. The scab from the scrape on top of it has almost totally healed. He's now sporting a light-yellow bruise on his forehead. Really, the sooner he stops over-reacting (Now, where could he have learned THAT from??), the better. For all of us, really. I think that Zoë said Bruce's name yesterday, as she was trying to grab his shoes. While were at it, any good hints on baby-dandruff? I think the kiddos are a little young yet for me to start breaking out the T-gel ... but brushing vaseline into Bruce's scalp isn't a long-term solution. I finished my mental_floss magazine this morning (since the kids woke up early and I couldn't get back to sleep). I wish it came out monthly, since it makes me happy to read it. Since I feel like I'm actually THINKING about SMART things. And not just diapers and sweet, little grins. Tonight, Michael and I get to take the kiddos with us to our meetings. I have two scouting meetings (one with my Webelos and one with just adults). Michael has a meeting, also at church (which is where I'll be, too), I think regarding his calling (which involves him being there Saturday mornings and supervising and cleaning the church building). So, yeah, it's going to be dang exciting. I think we may end up splitting the kids amongst ourselves. I may be able to hold Bruce or Zo-bug and get the boys to learn a skit for next week. Ugh. Wish me luck. And can you believe that tomorrow's Valentine's Day? It's really crept up on us. I only manages to get the kids' presents last night (they each are getting a little travel-sized Etch-a-Sketch to play with at church. The E-a-Sketches are really cute. One's decorated with pictures of conversation hearts. I call dibs on that one). I also got Michael's present. I was thinking of ordering the Indiana Jones collection from Overstock.com ... but I'm saving maybe $8. I also had the complete series of Firefly in my Amazon cart. For just under $25. I still need to vacuum. And watch the DVD I borrowed from the library. And read "And Eternity" by Piers Anthony. Yup, busy day. :P
