So, the other day, Bruce FREAKED THE HELL OUT and slammed his head into the couch. The hard part. I was at my scouting meeting, where I got to meet the other new leader. She's great. Neither one of us really has any idea what we're doing, but she's got drive. Good gal. She's my mom's age, and right away I knew that we'd get along. Yesterday, once I realized how HUGELY GINORMOUS Bruce's head-lump was (Seriously, it made his head look deformed), I texted Michael and read up on head injuries in the baby-care book. Since Bruce acts just like normal, everyday Bruce, there's no need to worry. We're just giving him Tylenol, icing his head-lump (which I do while nursing him, so he'll stay still, mostly, enough to be iced), and praying lots. After a couple hours, yesterday, the lump was about half the size it was in the morning. Phew! I totally think it's the prayer. But the conventional remedies help too ... they especially help me feel like I'm doing something. And I felt like Criminally-Bad Mom No. 1 after seeing how big his lump was and not even thinking of giving him any pain-killers or icing his head. (Seriously, I barely noticed the bump that night. And Michael spent his energy getting the boy calmed down. Bruce wasn't crying, and it only looked like it might bruise .... which it hasn't. I mean, there's a bit of a scab, but no bruising.) I finished a couple of books within the last 24 hours. I'm getting so close to being done with Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series. I'm about to start book 6, For the Love of Evil and then I'll be on the last book, ...And Eternity. Woot for me! Michael has the van today, since the truck's gotten a flat tire. I'd think about getting it fixed ... but I don't have any carseats in the truck ... and the kiddos have outgrown their baby-buckets. So, tomorrow, we can either take the truck in after Michael gets home -OR- he can take the day off and we'll take in the vehicles together (since the van DOES need some air in its front tires ... and most likely needs the tires rotated. Ugh.). Which one do I really hope for?? Well, you know me. If I can get Michael for an extra day, I would. But he's so dang responsible. I'll have to wait until he gets home, most likely. What else is new? Oh, my kids are cute ... They're chasing a ball in the kitchen. And falling all over themselves. Love it. They're happy. Good stuff.
