Yeah, two minutes later ... She's not hungry. Just seriously pissed. About what? I have NO. FLIPPING. CLUE. I've been going nuts about this Flixster site. Just rate movies and it'll tell you how compatible your movie taste is to your friends'. Kinda cool. The only problem is that there are so many R-rated movies that I have to put "No Interest" because I haven't seen them and won't ever ... unless I catch them, edited, on TV. ... Well, except for the movies that I HAVE seen, back in the days when I DID watch anything that caught my fancy. (I still miss "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion." If anyone has it, edited, on DVD and wants to spoil me, feel free to send it my way!!)
So, yeah, my results are skewed a little. If they had a "Want to see it but won't due to the MPAA rating" ... oh, I'd be using that one a bit. I've figured out why I don't have any friends, really, in my new ward -- well, there are a few reasons:
1- I'm really busy with B&Z.
2 - Being in Primary, I don't run into a lot of women at church.
3 - I would rather impress people first before I let them get to know me. Unfortunately, I end up acting like a ditz who's overrun with two 7-mo kids ... and who wants to get to know a ditzy gal?? Michael and I were talking last night. I was voicing these points and, after we ar ... I MEAN "discussed" the term 'spaz' which I used(instead of ditz, which is a bit better of a word choice) ... Michael brought up that one of the boys in a family he used to home teach liked me as a friend.
I had to bring up that I, as a "woman of advanced years", could not be calling up a seven-year-old boy to come over and hang out. It's just not right. Even if my kids are here, it's not right.
I wouldn't even invite my best guy-friend over without his wife. If I just went to hang out with my Ty, it'd have to be in a public place. and, besides, I like his wife. So, if I invited THEM over (which is a moot point, since it's too far to travel to invite them over), I'd need to invite their two kiddos.
I don't really have any friends without small children, so I can't just call someone and invite them over to just hang out ... kids don't have that long of attention spans. And I can never think of anything supercheap to do ... So, yeah. I've turned anti-social. (Michael scoffs at the idea that I ever could be shy. I might be quiet, but then I ruin it by talking and being crazy. Even if I don't necessarily want to be.) Well, I'm out of stuff to say, so I'm going to rate some more movies.
